"Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgmentally." Jon Kabat- Zinn

Mindfulness provides us with the ability to open up to a whole body and mind awareness in the present moment. The practice trains us to pay attention in the present moment rather than allowing the mind to dwell on the past or focus on the unknown future. The technique is a powerful tool to observe when the attention wanders and a default mode of operation predominates which is often associated with worry, stress and dissatisfaction.

Instead, we learn to focus our attention on the present moment through our body and our senses while welcoming an open and accepting attitude rather than being judgmental and critical of ourselves. In this way, we can experience the many benefits of mindfulness including enhanced cognitive performance, physical, mental health, relationship and greater well-being, contentment and peace of mind.

This is an experiential technique that must be felt through the senses.
