How long does it take to become a Pilates instructor?

There are a number of different course delivery options that will determine how long it may take you to become a Pilates Instructor. How long it takes is also dependant on what sort of Pilates you are interested in teaching.

A Pilates course may take anywhere between a few weeks to up to a year to complete. Observational and practical teaching hours are usually also a requirement, and these are self-directed.

Unite Health offers a number of supportive course structure options.

APPI Pilates Instructor Certification - no health background

The APPI Pilates Instructor Certification is offered via two formats: intensive and weekend modules. The intensive course runs for 3 weeks whilst the weekend modules run across 3 to 6 months. You can choose the format that best suits your needs.

APPI Clinical Pilates courses - healthcare background required

APPI Clinical Pilates courses run via intensive and weekend modules. The intensive course runs for 3 weeks (split into the Matwork Certification 6 days and Equipment Certification 8 days) whilst the weekend modules run across 3 to 9 months. You can course the format that best suits your needs.
