Build a solid foundation in anatomy, biomechanics and safe movement through structured modules and unique surface anatomy practical workshops.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior Pilates or anatomy experience to enrol? +

No prior experience is required. Our course takes you from beginner through to qualified instructor. All anatomy and physiology relevant to Pilates is covered in depth throughout the course.

Where is the in-person training held? +

In-person reformer training is held at SALA, 48 Brown Street, Ponsonby, Auckland 1021. The studio is easily accessible from central Auckland.

What is the difference between Hybrid and Online? +

The Hybrid course combines online Zoom weekends with an in-person reformer intensive in Auckland, and has scheduled intake dates. The 100% Online course is entirely self-paced from home with no fixed dates — you start anytime and study at your own pace. Both lead to the same APPI certification.

Is this qualification recognised in New Zealand? +

Yes. The APPI certification is internationally recognised and accepted by studios and employers across New Zealand and in 24+ countries worldwide. It is also recognised by REPs NZ (Register of Exercise Professionals New Zealand).

How long does it take to complete? +

The Hybrid course runs over approximately 3 months. The online course typically takes 3–9 months depending on how quickly you complete your logbook hours and exams. You have 12 months access to all course content from the date of enrolment.

What does my certification allow me to do? +

Once certified, you can gain professional insurance and begin teaching Pilates in studios, clinics and fitness centres across New Zealand, or start your own Pilates business. Your APPI qualification is recognised in 24+ countries, giving you the freedom to teach anywhere in the world.

What support is available while I study? +

Your course includes 3 × 1:1 online mentor sessions with an expert Pilates educator. Our team is also available via email, and you can book a call with a course expert at any stage of your studies.
