Arm Press in Prone with Variations - an exercise from APPI Equipment Pilates Course
In this video we demonstrate the arm press in prone with variations on the split pedal chair which is part of APPI’s Equipment 2 Course for Scapulothoracic Pain.
The prone position is one of the best positions to retrain the endurance of deep neck flexors and scapular muscles and the variations shown in the video will challenge the core’s ability to resist extension forces.
You will see the model’s maintenance of alignment of hip neutral, pelvis neutral, lumbar neutral and her head, allowing her the benefit of overall postural endurance. This exercise is incredibly useful for anyone who is suffering from headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain and lower back pain.
