APPI Pilates Equipment Level 2 builds upon the movements, understanding, cueing skills and exercise selection framework of Pilates Equipment Level 1. Theory and practical workshops over the two days review functional and surface anatomy of the scapulo-thoracic region.

Thirty-two movements for training scapulo-thoracic stabilisation on Pilates based equipment are taught through observation, participation and practice teaching. Discussions of clinical application of the Pilates movements occurs throughout teaching, and a presenter-led workshop on exercise selection assists in providing participants with an understanding and ability to teach these exercises to patients and clients after the course.

Case studies are reviewed and participants have the opportunity to design and discuss their own treatment plans. A guided workshop on imagery for the neck and shoulders aims to further expand the communication and cueing skills of participants.

Arm press and variations on the split pedal chair.  This is one of the scapulothoracic exercises covered on the APPI Pilates Equipment Level 2 course.

-  I loved the in-depth teaching and clinical reasoning for each exercise and its modifications/variations. Given the opportunity to practice all the exercises

-  Having a small class size was really beneficial for my learning and we were each able to get a lot of feedback

-  I really thought the presenters were extremely knowledgeable, easily approachable and the course was run exceptionally well

-  The presenter was fantastic, the layout and running order of both days was smooth and organised

-  The instructor was very knowledgeable and related all exercise into a clinical scenario

-  Katherine was a wonderful teacher and gave many relevant clinical examples and insights
