Arms Pulling Straps with Plough, Aeroplane and Triceps from APPI Pilates Equipment Level 2

Arms Pulling Straps with Plough, Aeroplane and Triceps from APPI Pilates Equipment Level 2

In this video we demonstrate the arm pulling on straps series using the reformer long box which is part of APPI’s Equipment 2 course for Scapulothoracic Pain.

This prone box position provides a challenge to the endurance and strength of the deep neck flexors, and also introduces the shoulder as the prime mover, allowing the client to strengthen rotator cuff, lats, biceps, trips and deltoids.

Note the model’s maintenance of her body’s horizontal position against gravity in addition to her leg position which does not dip or over extend. This demonstrates the constant use of her core throughout the exercise. Clients who are suffering from headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain or lower back pain would benefit from this exercise.

APPI Equipment Level 2 - Scapulo Thoracic Stabilisation

APPI Pilates Equipment Level 2 continues to explore beginner and intermediate movements on the large Pilates equipment with the predominate focus being the upper quadrant.  Incorporate the basic concepts of the large Pilates equipment introduced in Equipment Level 1, to exercises addressing the upper limb and scapulo thoracic region. You will once again learn movements on the reformer, cadillac, split pedal chair and arc barrel as well as countless modifications.
