How our APPI Ante Post Natal Pilates training can set you apart in your industry
We often talk about the importance of upskilling in your career, whether you’re an allied health professional or a Pilates instructor, and its ability to set you apart from your competition. As you know, upskilling elevates your skillset and confidence, helping you provide more comprehensive support to your clients, and differentiating you in a competitive industry.
And some upskilling courses and options are even more powerful, allowing you to be more inclusive and supportive of a greater range of clients. In particular, our range of APPI Ante Post Natal courses helps you do exactly that - it equips you with the knowledge, skills and understanding to accommodate pregnant and post natal clients in your Pilates practice.
While many Pilates instructors and health professionals turn away this group, unable to accommodate their unique needs due to a lack of knowledge in this space, completing our Ante Post Natal courses can allow you to be more inclusive in your work, further setting you apart from your competitors in the industry and conveying the genuine value you place on supporting your clients to be healthy, happy and cared for in your work.
One of our graduates, Elizabeth Gray, recently shared in a recent Unite Health webinar how completing her APPI Ante Post Natal training with Unite Health has allowed her to elevate her career and provide more comprehensive support and care to her clients. A successful Pilates instructor and entrepreneur, Elizabeth explained how this upskilling option has allowed her to expand her business and skillset, and helped her feel more confident in her own ability as an instructor.
Elizabeth believes being trained in Ante Post Natal modifications and movements has meant her clients no longer feel left out or excluded from Pilates, and can enjoy all her regular programming, with the secure knowledge they’re catered to with regressions and modifications for their particular stage of pregnancy or postpartum, thanks to Elizabeth’s extensive knowledge in the space.
“I definitely felt way more prepared to work with a greater range of clients after the course. For someone who doesn’t (yet!) have kids, and hasn’t gone through the pregnancy process personally, I feel I have a better understanding and can make appropriate modifications that are safe. Clients don’t need to feel left out, sitting and waiting until the next movement they can do. We were provided sufficient information on how to modify many movements to keep everyone moving safely!” Elizabeth says.
Elizabeth chose to complete her Ante Post Natal training online, as it worked well with her existing schedule and commitments, however there are also options available to complete our courses in-person too.
“I loved the flexibility of the course being online so we could do it in our own homes. Although it was online, we still could make connections with other members as we broke into teams for group work at times. So that in itself made it feel more inclusive and like we were all learning together, which we were!” she shares.
Elizbath also appreciated the high quality of the education itself, and of our course educators leading the training. “I absolutely loved how much knowledge Jess [the course educator] shared with us. She is full of incredible knowledge especially in this area, so I love that Unite Health always ensures their educators are of the best quality,” Elizabeth says.
And when it comes to setting herself apart from her competitors in an increasingly competitive industry, Elizabeth also strongly believes her Ante Post Natal training has helped her do so.
“I have had clients come to me because their other studio didn’t know how to handle them after a certain amount of weeks along their pregnancy journeys. I’m literally talking to a lady now, her usual Sydney studio won’t take her now as they don’t know what is safe."
“Some women don’t even know the guidelines when they’re pregnant and fully entrust instructors to provide the appropriate options and I’m glad I know [what these are]!” she says, confirming that her confidence in this area has allowed her to welcome more clients with diverse needs and abilities, at different stages of pregnancy and postnatal.
As well as allowing her to work with a greater range of clients, her qualifications have allowed her to demonstrate her genuine care for her clients and their unique needs, and have attracted new clients to her classes - regardless of whether they’re pregnant or postnatal, or not!
When asked if she’d recommend Unite Health’s Ante Post Natal courses, Elizabeth replied, “100%, I have already recommended it to others. I think it’s the best. Especially if you haven’t personally had kids yet so you don’t know what it all feels like to be pregnant or postpartum!”
