APPI Matwork Level 2 - Class Instructor is a unique course designed to give you the confidence and practical skills to teach groups and classes. Although as clinicians we are used to teaching clinical exercise, it tends to be in a 1:1 setting.  Teaching in a group is a very different scenario, and your Pilates skills obtained in Matwork Level 1 and Matwork Level 3 do need to be adapted to provide the best level of teaching you can in a group environment.  Attend APPI Matwork Level 2 - Class Instructor to learn a variety of warm up and cool down movements to incorporate into your classes, along with cueing skills that are essential in running a seamless class.  You will also participate in various workshops focussing on how to achieve flow in your Pilates mat classes.

APPI Matwork Level 2-Class Instructor is the second step of the APPI Clinical Pilates Matwork Certification Series. This course is designed to give you the skills to begin offering your own group Pilates mat classes.

You will learn the vital aspects of assessment, screening, class planning, warm-ups, cool downs, standing Pilates exercises, and how to design population-specific Pilates classes such as Low Back Pain.  Classes enable clients to further develop their own body awareness and independence from one-to-one treatments. They are also an excellent way to retrain clients once they have finished their one-on-one program.

Pilates movements with small equipment are introduced to broaden your movement repertoire and add further diversity to group classes. Pilates classes are excellent for clients once they become familiar with the Pilates principles.

This video demonstrates a brief standing warm-up sequence. A full repertoire of warm up and cool down movements that can be incorporated into group classes are covered on the course.

-  Sally was amazing and very knowledgeable and inspiring

-  The setup for the day was great. Loved the class first thing (allowed you to have a go at the movements first), followed by the lecture.

-  The content was practical and relevant for use in group classes. I feel more prepared to run a group class with what I have learnt on the course.

- Friendly learning environment, class size wasn't too big

- Learning alternative exercises with many progressions. Helpful to keep clients engaged within class settings and in a 1 on 1 capacity.

- Sally was excellent. She had great energy and was very knowledgable.

- Getting clinically relevant information and tips for classes and private practice marketing

 - The instructor was very friendly and motivated us to learn. She conducted the course in a way that kept it moving, but I felt we had adequate time.
