Upon completion of APPI Equipment Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 you are eligible to sit your APPI Equipment Pilates Certification exam. The final Equipment exam consists of 2 components being a practical exam and a theory exam as well as uploading your completed certification logbook and your homework for each level.
The 60-minute theory exam will consist of multiple-choice and short answer questions and is to be completed online. You will log into your learner profile to complete the theory component. You will have access to the theory exam once you have completed your practical exam.
The practical exam will involve teaching an equipment Pilates session to a friend/family member who acts as your "patient". The session you teach will be based on a set case study that you receive on the exam day. You have 15 minutes to plan the session which you then teach your "patient". You have 50 minutes to teach the session, and then you will be asked to demonstrate 4 movements on each piece of equipment. These movements can be from any manual so you need to be able to recall each exercise from each level of training. Sessions can be arranged face to face in some cities or live stream via zoom.
You have 12 months from completing the final level of the Equipment Certification to sit your practical exam.
If you purchased the APPI Clinical Pilates Equipment Certification or APPI Pilates Certification - Matwork & Equipment series then you should have automatically been enrolled on to the exam page of the online portal. If you cannot see the exam page listed when you log int the online portal, please contact the office by emailing: info@unitehealth.com.au or phoning 03) 9525 080. If you purchased each level of your training individually you will need to purchase the exam separately through this page of our website. Once you purchase the exam you will be enrolled and can then access further information through the portal.
In addition to completing the practical and theory exams, please upload your certification logbook as well as completed case studies from each equipment level to the online portal. You can only access the portal to do this once you are enrolled in the exam - please refer to "How do I book?"
Upon successful completion of exams and upload of all documentation, you will receive an email with your certificate of completion and the APPI Equipment certified logo to promote yourself as a fully certified APPI instructor. After the first 12 months of having received your certification, you must continue to demonstrate 8 hours per year of Pilates related CPD to maintain your APPI certification.
