The APPI Pilates for Rotational Sports online course is open to anyone that has completed APPI Matwork Level 1, APPI Pilates Instructor Certification or holds a formal matwork Pilates certification.
APPI Pilates for Rotational Sports is designed for Pilates instructors, physiotherapists and allied-health professionals working with clients in sports that demand powerful rotational movements, including golf, tennis and hockey. The course begins by exploring the theoretical foundations of rotational sport, focusing on biomechanics and the physical demands placed on the body. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the essential role core strength, pelvic stability, and flexibility play in generating efficient and effective movement patterns.
Building on this theory, the course progresses into practical application with Pilates-based exercises specifically chosen to enhance rotational performance. These exercises target activation, awareness, stability, endurance, strength and mobility, equipping you with the tools to address the unique needs of rotational athletes.
Through interactive, sports-specific workshops and applied case studies, you’ll consolidate your knowledge and refine your teaching strategies. By the end, you’ll be confident in applying clinically safe, effective Pilates techniques to improve your clients’ rotational performance and sporting outcomes.
To be eligible to attend this course you must have completed either APPI Matwork Level 1, APPI Pilates Instructor Certification or a matwork Pilates certification from a recognised provider.
