The skills developed in this course are designed to complement existing rehabilitation programs or to be offered as classes or one on one sessions for clients wanting to explore the benefits of Yoga in a safe environment.  Linking to relevant clinical research, this course will provide an evidence-based approach to teaching Yoga for rehabilitation.

Our Therapeutic Yoga online course covers a variety of beginner level poses and techniques which will facilitate postural education, correct movement patterning, body/breath awareness as well as helping clients find alignment in their bodies. This course will also explore the power of the mind-body connection that provides a holistic approach to any rehabilitation program. Designed by Australian physiotherapist, Irene Ais for physiotherapists and rehabilitation professionals, the Unite Health Yoga Method presents the most recent research relevant to Yoga and teaches a realistic, safe and effective framework of Yoga exercises for rehabilitation and therapy.

Yoga history and philosophy are explored to develop solid foundations for Yoga teaching. Level 1 poses, breathing and meditation techniques are presented through a variety of teaching methods with a focus on participation in numerous practical sessions. Throughout the course, clinical applications of yoga principles, as well as the exercises themselves will be explored.  Case studies will be reviewed and participants have the chance to design and discuss their own yoga programs. Guided meditation and breathing techniques assist participants in generating the skills required for effective programs spanning the layers of mind, body, and breath that yoga influences.

This course will also provide the skills for skillful physical and verbal pose adjustments and how to increase teaching skills for leading classes.
