During the APPI Pilates Cadillac Certification you’ll learn beginner, intermediate and advanced original and APPI evolved Pilates movements along with countless modifications and variations for 1:1 and group settings.

You will be required to submit your logbook and practical exam to become a certified APPI Pilates Cadilliac Instructor.  You will need access to a cadillac to complete this course.

Prerequisite

APPI Matwork Level 1, APPI Matwork Certification, or a formal 2-day Matwork Pilates course is the prerequisite for our APPI Pilates Cadillac Certification

The APPI Pilates Cadillac Certification Course offers a comprehensive training experience designed to expand your Pilates teaching skills. Across the program, you’ll learn a wide variety of beginner, intermediate, and advanced original and APPI-evolved Pilates movements, with countless modifications and variations to suit every client.

 

Special focus is given to movement selection, muscle recruitment, alignment, cueing, progression, and effective feedback, ensuring you can deliver safe, targeted, and adaptable programs.

 

Through practical and theoretical workshops, you’ll refine your visual, tactile, and verbal cueing, and develop confidence in:

 

  • 1:1 program planning
  • Home exercise program design
  • Small group and mixed studio session delivery

 

The cadillac’s unique versatility makes it especially valuable for upper limb rehabilitation, offering a wide range of shoulder-specific exercises, as well as superior mobilisation and articulation techniques. With exercises performed in lying, kneeling, and standing positions, you’ll gain the skills to adapt and evolve your repertoire, taking clients from rehabilitation through to full strength and conditioning.

To become a certified APPI Pilates Cadillac Instructor you will be required to complete your certification exams. 

Certification Logbook

Your completed APPI Pilates Cadillac Certification logbook is to be submitted prior to submitting your practical exam.

Hours are:

  • 10 hours of observation 
  • 30 hours of practice teaching 
  • 50 hours of self-practice 

Practical exam

Design and film a 60 minute 1:1 session for a client of your choice using the APPI repertoire.

You will be marked on:

  • Introduction – the meet and greet procedure and introduction to the cadillac
  • Session planning – does the session flow in a structured way and allow the client to achieve the goals set out in the case study
  • The teaching of the Pilates exercises – introducing the reasons behind the exercise to the client
  • Demonstrations
  • Cueing – verbal, tactile, visual imagery
  • Energy and motivation of the voice
  • Safety

A 70% minimum mark is required to pass your practical exam.

Do I need a background in allied health to enrol in the APPI Pilates Cadillac Certification course?

To qualify to enrol into the APPI Pilates Cadillac Certification you are required to hold an allied health degree, are an allied health student, or a matwork and reformer qualified Pilates instructor looking to upskill on the cadillac.

What certification will I receive after completing the course?

Upon successful completion of the course and final assessments, you will receive the APPI Pilates Cadillac Certification – an internationally recognised certification. This certification allows you to teach 1:1 or small group clinical Pilates classes.

The APPI Pilates Cadillac Certification is a 100% online and self-paced course allowing you to study anytime, from anywhere, at your own pace. You will have 12 months from the date of enrolment to complete the trianing and sit certification exams.
