The APPI Clinical Pilates Equipment Certification series is broken down into 4 x 2-day courses.  Following each teaching block, you will be able to start teaching the exercises straight away and implement your new skills into your clinical practice.

APPI Equipment Level 1 - Lumbopelvic Stabilisation: APPI Pilates Equipment Level 1 covers beginner level repertoire aimed at improving lumbopelvic stabilisation.  Exercises on the reformer, cadillac, split pedal chair and arc barrel are covered on each level.

APPI Equipment Level 2- Sacpulothoracic Stabilisation:  APPI Pilates Equipment Level 2 continues to expand your beginner-intermediate repertoire introducing participants to Pilates exercises with a focus on the upper limb and scapulothoracic stabilisation. Once again, exercises are taught on reformer, cadillac, split pedal chair and barrels.

APPI Equipment Level 3 - Spinal Articulation and Stretching: On APPI Pilates Equipment Level 3 you will start to explore articulation and stretching on the large equipment.  This dynamic course introduces more intermediate level exercises that address mobility for the whole body.

APPI Equipment Level 4 - Progressions and Planning:  Throughout this final level, you will draw upon the fundamentals gained in the earlier levels to learn a repertoire of intermediate-advanced exercises that call for full body integration.

APPI Equipment Certification Exam: Upon completion of Equipment Levels 1-4 you will be eligible to sit your certification exams. The theory exam is completed online and the practical is a face to face exam.

Once you have attended all four equipment levels and completed your certification logbook you can then complete the exam process.  Once you pass both exams and submit all homework and logbook requirements, you will become an APPI Pilates Certified Pilates Equipment Instructor. APPI Pilates is taught to health and rehabilitation professionals around the world, so you will be entering an international community of certified teachers. You will also have access to the APPI logo to promote yourself as a certified teacher.

Designed for Physiotherapists & Allied Health Professionals

APPI has spent years developing what is now recognised as the premier international Pilates Rehabilitation program. Founded by Australian Physiotherapists Glenn and Elisa Withers in 1999, The APPI Pilates Method has been designed specifically for use by physiotherapists and other rehabilitation professionals working in the clinical setting. This comprehensive Pilates instructor training will give you all the tools required to teach effectively in the clinical environment but also the confidence to move clients beyond the rehab phase to full health and fitness.

Clinical approach to training that can be immediately implemented

The APPI Pilates curriculum is designed specifically for those working in the clinical setting; therefore pathology, normal movement patterns, neuro-muscular timing, and neural pathomechanics are addressed in relation to each exercise. The traditional Pilates repertoire is broken down into clearly defined levels to ensure a standard, gradual progression towards normal functional movement. Scientific evidence on segmental spinal stabilisation and on pelvic stability forms the theoretical foundation for the APPI curriculum.

On each level of the certification series, you will gain skills and knowledge that you can immediately implement into your clinical practice.
