APPI Equipment Level 1 - Lumbo Pelvic Stabilsation: APPI’s Equipment Level 1 covers beginner level repertoire aimed at improving lumbopelvic stabilisation.  Exercises on the reformer, cadillac, split pedal chair and arc barrel are covered on each level.

APPI Equipment Level 2- Sacpulo Thoracic Stabilisation:  Equipment Level 2 continues to expand your beginner- intermediate repertoire introducing participants to Pilates exercises with a focus on the upper limb and scapulothoracic stabilisation. Once again, exercises are taught on reformer, cadillac, split pedal chair and barrels.

APPI Equipment Level 3 - Spinal Articulation and Stretching: On Equipment level three you will start to explore articulation and stretch on the large equipment.  This dynamic course introduces some more intermediate level exercises which address mobility for the whole body.

APPI Equipment Level 4 - Progressions and Planning:  Throughout this final level, you will draw upon the fundamentals gained in the earlier levels to learn a repertoire of intermediate-advanced exercises that call for full body integration.

APPI Equipment Certification Exam: Upon completion of Equipment Levels 1-4 you will be eligible to sit your certification exams. the theory exam is completed online and the practical is a face to face exam

Prior to commencing your APPI training, we recommend that you have attended some Pilates sessions yourself to have an awareness of the basics. Ideally, attending some equipment sessions will help you to feel more comfortable with the large equipment before you commence your training.

Once you enroll in the equipment series, you will be directed to download the certification logbooks where you will log your practice teaching and self-practice hours.  You will also need to get signed off on your personal Pilates class attendance and also observational hours as part of the process.

Part of your certification involves 20 hours of reading.  There is a reading list of recommended articles that you can source yourself, alternatively, you can purchase them printed and bound through our store.  As a further learning resource, we recommend the APPI Matwork series DVDs and the Reformer DVD to familiarise yourself with the APPI style of teaching.

Please allow at least  7 working days for delivery of any products.

Once you have attended all four equipment levels and completed your certification logbook you can then complete the exam process.  Once you pass both exams and submit all homework and log book requirements, you will become an APPI Pilates certified Pilates Equipment Instructor. APPI Pilates is taught to health and rehabilitation professionals around the world, so you will be entering an international community, of certifed teachers. You will also have access to the APPI logo to promote yourself as a certified teacher.

APPI Pilates training is open to Physiotherapists, and open to other degree qualified health professionals such as Osteopaths, Exercise Physiologists, Doctors, Sports Scientists, Chiropractors, Rehabilitation Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Degree qualified Myotherapists and Physiotherapy students.  Pilates instructors are eligible to complete our Equipment courses.
